A 28-year-old man has been arrested in Pennsylvania in connection with the stabbing deaths last month of four University of Idaho students, according to several news reports Friday.
Paperwork filed by Pennsylvania State Police show Bryan Christopher Kohberger, 28, was being held for extradition in a criminal homicide investigation based on an active arrest warrant for first-degree murder issued by the Moscow, Idaho, Police Department and Latah County Prosecutor’s Office, according to the Associated Press.
The suspect was taken into custody early Friday morning in eastern Pennsylvania, reportedly after police asked for help in finding a white sedan, in connection to the killings.
The bodies of the victims were found Nov. 11 an off-campus rental home. They killings took place after the students came home from a night of partying, reportedly with a large knife.
Authorities in Moscow, Idaho, have thus far said little publicly about their investigation, which until now appears to have been a cold case.
The names of the students are Ethan Chapin, Kaylee Goncalves, Xana Kernodle and Madison Mogen.
Authorities in Idaho are scheduled to hold a press conference at 4 p.m. ET.
The person taken into custody reportedly is in his 20s and is not a University of Idaho student.
